WSHL Boulder Bison Promote Derek Scanlon |
| Former Boulder Jr. Bison defenseman Derek Scanlon has signed a Pro contract for the 2010-2011 season. After leading his jr. Bison team to a 40-18-2 Cinderella season, Mid Western Division Championships and a Jr. A nationals birth. the 21 year old Scanlon will be embarking on a new journey. Scanlon has signed with the Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League. Scanlon joined the Bucks for the playoff run along with his Coach and former Laredo captain Brent Cullaton who won two championships while playing for the Bucks and went back to help with injuries to a depleted Bucks line up. " I brought Derek with me in January when I played three games and he impressed head Coach and former NHL player Terry Ruskowski enough to earn an invite back to be a part of the playoffs and gain experience through practice". Derek was no slouch in the WSHL where he put up 56 points in 55 games with 132 PIMs as a defenseman and was chosen as a member of the Thorne Cup all star team.
The Bucks training camp will open October 5th at the Laredo Energy Arena. |
