BVHF Announces Acquisition of Junior A Hockey Program

Brent Cullaton Named General Manager and Head Coach

Boulder, May 19, 2009:  Boulder Valley Hockey Foundation (BVHF) today announced that it has purchased a Junior A hockey program from B&B Sports, LLC.   The program has existed in the northern Colorado area since 2007 under the name Colorado Outlaws.

In addition, BVHF announced it has hired Brent Cullaton, a 13 year professional hockey player, most recently with the Rocky Mountain Rage and Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League, as its General Manager and Head Coach of the Junior A team.  The team will be named Boulder Bison and will play out of the Boulder Valley Ice at Superior (BVICE) facility.

“We are extremely excited about adding a Junior program to our successful youth hockey program”, said Dennis Hefter, BVHF President.  “Our goal is to offer Colorado players a local alternative to continue their hockey careers past high school.  We will run this program as we do our youth program, with high integrity and a focus on developing young people.”

The Boulder Bison Junior team will hold tryouts in June and July, and will begin its inaugural season in the fall of 2009.   For more information about the Boulder Bison Junior program, visit the website at www.jrbison.com or contact Brent Cullaton at 303-817-6689 or pointnight@aol.com.

“When you have a chance to get a guy like Brent Cullaton involved in your program, you find a way to do it.”, said Matt Huckins, Director of Hockey Operations.  “Brent’s vision and high moral values are a perfect match with the BHC program.  There’s no doubt Brent will develop a Junior program that everyone in BHC will be proud of.”
